HUDSON, OH, April 25, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- BOKO Botanicals and The Sampler are teaming up to host a one-of-a-kind vintage collectibles tag sale on Saturday, April 28th in support of Hudson resident Eric Shanaberger's quest to win the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Man & Woman of the year.

The majority of items for sale are from the private collection of BOKO Botanicals owner, Jackie Boesinger. "I've had a lifelong passion for anything related to sewing -- from old buttons and fabric to vintage patterns and trims" said Boesinger. "I am ready to let other collectors find a few treasures while raising money for a good cause."

Items for sale include beautiful fabrics and trims from the 1930s to 1980s, children's clothing from the 1940s - 1960s including christening gowns and bonnets from the 19th century, a variety of old buttons and lace, sewing patterns from the 1930s to 1980s, antique and vintage doll clothing, pristine embroidered linens and tablecloths, romantic lingerie from the 1940s & 50s, and much more.

The Sampler co-owners, Sally & Joe Scott and Mike Shanahan jumped at the opportunity to help organize the fund raiser. There are over 50 artists selling their wares at the Sampler and many will be donating a portion of their proceeds on the sale day to the Lymphoma & Leukemia Society.

When Shanahan learned about Shanaberger's mission to raise funds in memory of his late wife Holly, who died of Lymphoma, it hit close to home for him. He lost his wife to cancer after having watched her battle with the disease for many years.

"I know my wife would have loved this type of event as she was such a creative and giving person."said Shanahan. "She'll be with us in spirit on Saturday."

Boesinger also has another pressing reason to support the campaign. One of the employees of our local Hattie's Cafe is currently fighting Burkitt's Lymphoma. "Krissy always had a smile on her face and kind words for her customers. " said Boesinger. "I want her and her family to know that many people in Hudson are working together to help find a cure for her cancer."

The sale will be on Saturday, April 28th, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at 5850 Darrow Road (91 across from Discount Drug Mart), Hudson Ohio.
